Vista’s Home Buying Process

To many the homebuying process can be overwhelming. And as your premier new home builder in Charlotte NC, overwhelming is just not our style. Our home buying process is seamless because we are there to walk you through each step of the way. Read below for the four simple steps it takes to own a Vista Home.

Step One A – Getting Started

The first step to home ownership with Vista Homes is meeting with one of our fabulous sales associates. We will discuss your wants to determine your must haves as well as your needs to determine what is nice to have in your new home but not a requirement. In addition, we will review land or lot plans, and floorplans. We have also helped homebuyer’s find land to build on and we can do the same for you. Starting with the “Promise to Build” agreement, which requires a deposit, we will help you find land to build on. If you decide to build with us the “Promise to Build” money goes towards your deposit. If we do not help you find you land, then your deposit from “Promise to Build” agree will be returned.

Step Two – Choosing Floorplans and Selections

During this phase you will select your floorplan, sign a contract with us to build your home, and then put down a deposit on your new home. Once that part is finished it is on to designing! You will be able to choose from an array of design options for your appliances, cabinets, countertops, flooring, home entertainment, lighting, and so much more. Throughout this stage, the design team will be there right along with you helping you every step of the way. The options and any upgrades will be finalized three weeks after you sign the contract.

Step Three – Construction Begins

This stage includes three parts. First, you will attend pre-construction orientation where you will meet with your sales associate and project manager. This meeting will ensure your construction documents are accurate and construction of your home is good to go. Next, your home is built, and you will have new home orientation. Your project manager will introduce you to your new home, get you acquainted to it, and help you understand the optional features. Finally, there is pre-drywall orientation. You will walk through the home with the project manager during the frame stage. You will also review the placement of optional features to confirm all your selections have been installed and correctly located. You can also view the quality features inside the walls of your new home if you choose.

Step Four – Move In

Welcome home! You have confirmed everything is the way it should be, and we have confirmed everything is up to our standards. And the excitement of your dream of owning a Vista Home is now a reality. How exciting! Your new home custom home has been built and is ready for you to move in. We will change the locks and hand over the keys. Your home will be backed by the Quality Builders Warranty Corporation (OBWC) 10-year home warranty. This gives you access to quick and welcoming service to address any warranty issues that may arise.
