The Build On Your Lot Process with Vista Homes

Building your custom home with Vista Homes is a seamless, step-by-step journey designed to bring your vision to life on the homesite you love. Here’s what you can expect:

1 | INITIAL MEETING

Our Sales Consultant will meet you at one of our available new homes in Charlotte. They’ll walk you through our standard features and give you a rundown of the Build On Your Land process.

2 | FREE LAND ASSESSMENT

Now it’s time to dive in. Our Sales Consultant and Construction Manager will meet you at your site to narrow down which of our semi-custom buildable floor plans will suit your property best, as well as confirm any site work and/or tree removal that will need to be completed.

3 | DECIDE ON A PLAN, REVIEW SELECTION PROCESS & PROVIDE ESTIMATE

It’s decision time. In this step, you’ll choose which home you’d like to build from our portfolio, review the selection process with our Sales Consultant, and receive a rough estimate of costs for your build from start to finish.

4 | FINALIZE SELECTIONS & RECEIVE CONTRACT

Now for the fun part! Meet with our designer to go through our design packages and decide which is the perfect fit for your new home. Once complete, you will receive the official contract. Upon signing, you’ll submit your deposit and construction will begin!

5 | CONSTRUCTION BEGINS

Within two weeks of going under contract, you will have a meet and greet with your Construction Manager, who will be in charge of building your home. This is your chance to get to know them face-to-face and verify your contract summary. You will then attend a Pre-Construction Orientation to verify all selections, Vista standards, upgrades, review the Quality Builder’s Warranty, and set expectations for the construction of your home. Throughout the construction phase, you will have biweekly update calls with your Construction Manager and Sales Consultant to keep you informed on all progress and address any questions or concerns you may have.

6 | PRE-DRYWALL ORIENTATION

Once the framing is complete, you will attend a Pre-Drywall Orientation on-site with your Construction Manager to discuss features that will not be visible once drywall is installed, such as plumbing and electrical.

7 | NEW HOMEOWNER ORIENTATION

Once your home is complete and we have received the Certificate of Occupancy, you are officially 30-days out from your move-in date. Approximately 1-2 weeks before move-in, you will attend a New Homeowner Orientation with your Construction Manager and Sales Consultant. You will learn about the features of your home and the operation of all systems and discuss home maintenance.

8 | WELCOME HOME!

24-hours before move-in, you will attend a final walk with your Construction Manager to ensure that anything noted at the New Homeowner Orientation has been addressed, and confirm that your home is 100% complete. On move-in day, you’ll be given the keys to your beautiful new home!
